Active in the Washington, DC, educational community, Candido Brown directs Reading Achievement Partners and provides literacy-focused resources and support to K-8 teachers and administrators. Candido Brown coordinates efforts with partner schools in ways that ensure consistency across various classrooms and include teacher coaching, training, and development.

Mr. Brown’s background extends to a role as an emerging leader fellow with Boston-based Building Excellent Schools. He worked to create a new charter school in Washington, DC’s underserved eighth ward that reflected quality academic standards and set students on a pathway as high-achieving scholars in college and beyond. In helping develop the elementary school, he studied and observed 35 of the nation’s highest-performance urban charter schools.

Mr. Brown also has experience with Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore as public relations associate, and he led prospective students in navigating a complex college admissions process. Among Candido Brown’s responsibilities was facilitating off-campus tours, events, and activities that boosted student applications and ensured that they achieved their enrollment goals.
